toes in the sand

greetings from the sunshine state! it's a beautiful monday morning down here in florida. may and i are currently sitting out on the balcony listening to the waves and trying not to wake up the rest of the house.

(someone did not get the memo that 6am is not an acceptable wake up time while on vacation)

the girls and i have already been down here for about a week. we have had an absolute blast playing in the sand and swimming their little hearts out!

ryan got her first jellyfish sting. she was so brave. i thought it would keep her out of the water for sure...but she went right back in the next day without a second thought. so tough!



we hit up some of our favorite
restaurants down here...including the crab trap with their playground in the sand!












there are little geckos everywhere this year. the girls are determined to catch one...man are those little guys fast!






on saturday my parents and the sweeneys arrived to shake things up! the gals were counting down the minutes until their cousins pulled up and we immediately headed down to the beach...








sunday morning we woke up to rain...boo...but in typical florida fashion it didn't last long. we were in the pool by 10:30 and down to the beach after lunch!



brendan and ryan have made some amazing progress in the water this year. neither has even touched a floaty and are swimming like fish!









the morning storm brought a bunch of jellyfish to shore (which brendan took upon himself to catch) so we had to mainly stay on the sand...















oh, and look what brendan caught last night before dinner...


it's been an amazing week so far...can't wait to see what this week brings!
