more annie

you want to know something that is so unfair about having a new baby? how fast time goes once she's here. 

for 9 months you wait and wait and wait to meet the little one. that last month can feel like an eternity...especially if you aren't feeling all that great. the anticipation builds and builds until the moment when you finally lay your eyes on her. 

then someone hits the fast forward button and suddenly you realize your little one is already one week old. 

one week. 

sigh.

it's a good thing i got totally suckered into buying the pictures from the hospital photo shoot so i can always remember annie at 48 hours old. 

i can remember stressing out big time about these pictures when may was born. i wanted ryan and lilly there looking perfectly put together and snuggling their new baby sister. that did not happen. lilly refused to be in them and ryan looked pretty disheveled. 

this time i totally lowered my expectations. 

(oh yes and i had already booked a newborn session with our fabulous family photog...which is happening tomorrow!!)

so when the hospital photographer came into my room last weekend i had absolutely no intention of buying the pics. i didn't have any cutesy outfits planned for annie, not one of her sisters were anywhere to be found, i hadn't even taken a shower yet for crying out loud! needless to say i didn't expect much.

that's the funny thing about expectations...when you lower them things always seem to work out.

i mean just look at how adorable these are...

i am taking a cue from myself for tomorrow and lowering my expectations. if annie screams the whole time...it's fine. if may refuses to smile...it's ok. 

my life certainly isn't perfect...so i really shouldn't expect these pictures to be!
