the birthday celebration continues...

6:44 PM

since dan and i are packing up and leaving for beaver creek tomorrow...the girls and i had an afternoon filled with making birthday cards and birthday brownies. not the smartest idea after just having my kitchen floors cleaned but hey, they had fun and that is all that matters.

checking on their masterpiece...

the only candle i could find was the "1" from lil's birthday. we had to make due.

singing happy birthday to the #1 daddy in the world!!!

i have to admit, i am starting to get a little nervous about leaving the girls. we have done a few weekend trips here and there but this will be the first time we're leaving them for more than 2 nights. don't get me wrong i am very, very excited to get out to colorado (the highs are in the 70s!!!) and relax with dan and our wonderful friends who are making the trip...but i am going to miss my babies so much. let's face it they are in fabulous hands (those who raised dan and myself) so i am not nervous in the least bit about that...i am just worried about going 5 whole days without seeing those beautiful faces. how am i going to go 5 days without seeing ryan put on one of her now infamous "just around the river bend" performances? how am i going to go 5 days without seeing lil give me that sneaky little "i know i'm doing something wrong" smile she's gotten so good at recently? i realize this is for dan's 30th birthday and we need to take time for ourselves and our marriage...and don't get me wrong we are going to have a blast! i also realize this is good for ry & lil too. they absolutely adore spending the night at my parent's and at dottie's. they will be spoiled rotten for 5 whole days...who wouldn't love that? all i'm saying is i'm going to miss my babies. plain and simple. they are my life and i thank god (and dan) that i am able to spend every day with them. i love you girls more than you'll ever know and i'll miss you this week/weekend. that's all. bon voyage :)

  2. skype is sooo easy! Just do that and bring your laptop! Those pics are hilarious. You are going to look back on them in 20 years and think it was Lil's 1st bday
