happy birthday america!

4th of july on the beach...not a bad way to celebrate our independence! bossy & the kids decided to make a birthday cake for america. we sang and everything!


of course brendy did more sampling than decorating...




then the kids put on their festive attire for our 4th of july bbq. but not before jumping on ne ne & dow's bed and an impromptu concert by miss mary ryan hauck. she has been serenading us a lot this week.

had a minor mishap with dinner. a little too much smoke from the grill wafted inside and set off the smoke alarm. whoops! since dan couldn't guess the right passcode in 60 seconds they sent the truck. these two were glued to the window.

after dinner we put on our pj's and headed down to the beach for fireworks...where we found out lilly is not a fan. this was the only pic i got because my little bear & i only lasted 5 minutes. like mother, like daughter. this is what i get for making people sit inside with me during fireworks for the first 7 years of my life!
