baby update
7:26 PMit's been awhile since i updated everyone on this little bean growing in my stomach. i am 35 weeks on thursday which means this baby will grace us all with his or her presence in just 5 short weeks. i knew it would fly by once we got through summer but even i wasn't prepared for just how quickly september & october would go. it's so hard for me to believe that halloween is a week away, which means thanksgiving is right around the corner, which means baby is a week after that. wowza. i guess i should probably start preparing for this child's arrival.
today i had yet another ultrasound. i was measuring small at my last appointment so my doctor just wanted to take another peek at this little one to make sure all was ok. from the constant movement of this kid i wasn't worried at all, but i will take any opportunity to take a looksie. although we didn't get any good pics we were able to see that he/she is doing just fine and growing right on track.
here are the stats:
sex:
still a surprise. i get asked the question everyday and i honestly have no idea. i feel the same as i did with the girls. my mom swears i am carrying this baby lower and i am more tired this time around...but i think that has more to do with the 2 rugrats i am chasing around all day rather than the baby itself. lilly is still sticking with her boy guess whereas ryan swears it's a girl. at least one of them will be right!
baby's weight:
about 5lbs 9oz. on track to be around 7 1/2 lbs...just like his/her big sisters
heartrate:
didn't get a number today, but doctor said "very strong." last heartrate was 156 so think what you will.
movement:
constant jabs up around my ribs which i believe to be a knee since baby is head down. also lots of movement around my belly button which is probably an elbow. i feel him/her throughout the day, but once i lay down at night is when the show really begins. i love to watch my belly jump up & down.
my weight gain (gulp):
actually not too terrible which is the only reason i am putting it on here. as of today i have gained 23 lbs. i can handle that. now, seeing how long it takes me to take it off...that will not be published on here.
pregnancy issues:
no serious issues, thank goodness. just minor heartburn which is cured by tums, a little carpal tunnel in my hands which is eased with a wrist guard worn at night, and a little swelling in my hands from the carpal tunnel. other than that this pregnancy has been pretty smooth sailing.
cravings:
really none to report. i have been indulging in the season of candy and sweets but instead of chocolate all i want are strawberry laffy taffys. random, i know. our candy drawer is now full of banana laffy taffy b/c i have yet to find a bag of only strawberry/green apple. if you like banana...come on over. (and yes, we have a candy drawer)
names:
undecided. we have a few favorites but haven't really nailed anything down quite yet. i can guarantee that if it's a girl she will be another mary. i mean, what would i call this blog if she wasn't?!?
i think that is all the info i have for now. the girls are growing more and more excited by the day for this baby to arrive. i can tell they are both going to be wonderful helpers once we're home and stuck indoors for the winter. feel free to stop by and visit us :)

156 Heart Rate? I'm guessing girl! And 23 lbs - that is amazing! I delivered both my babies at 36 weeks and was NEVER close to that! Congrats, it will be much easier to get off with 3 kids because when will you have time to eat? :) Glad to hear the pregnancy is going well!
