incase you live under a rock...or just don't follow sports in any way shape or form...our stl cardinals are battling it out in game 7 of the world series tonight against the texas rangers.

my hubs pulled some strings, shelled out some cash and got himself & his best pal tickets to "baseball heaven." now you may be thinking, him & his friend? why didn't i get to go? well, don't you worry about me. as much as i would love to be there when they win, i am perfectly content watching the game from the comfort of my house. the girls are asleep and i am in my sweats, under a blanket, blogging away while joe buck keeps me up to speed on all that's happening downtown.

it's funny how quickly things change in life. let's go back just 5 short years ago, shall we? it was a friday night, just like tonight. game 5 of the world series with the cardinals up 3 games to 1 against the detroit tigers. we had friends in town for our now infamous engagement halloween party that was to be held the following night. one of our friends in town just happens to be from michigan and a big tigers fan. him & dan had gone to game 4 the night before. we didn't have tickets for game 5, so instead we decided to have my then, soon-to-be mother in law drive a group of us downtown & drop us off at a bar right next to the stadium. we partied the entire game and man did we go crazy when the birds beat the tigers to win the world series! there was no where i would've rather been that night then down there in the middle of all the celebrating.

as for tonight. here i lay. in our bed. 9 months pregnant with our 3rd child and there is no where else i'd rather be. i am, however, so happy at least one of us can be down there amongst all the chaos.
