pumpkin patch(es)
2:09 PMit's that time of year folks. time for my #1, top of the list, all time favorite fall activity...the pumpkin patch. we are very lucky to have a few fabulous patches in this beautiful town we live in...and we take full advantage. so far we have hit up 3 different ones since october 1st.
our first stop was a couple weeks ago at theis' pumpkin patch up in florissant. no co is my mom's old stompin grounds and my grandparent's house is a hop, skip & jump from this particular patch. (it's a favorite stop for mj in the summer for her beloved home grown tomatoes.) this little patch gets bigger and bigger every year, it seems our kids do as well.
not too happy about that last part!
case in point...ryan wouldn't even attempt climbing this last year.
just look at big shot up there.
i love it when my kids have confidence in themselves!
apparently the 80 degree weather was leaving molly with a bit of a chill. nothing like a burlap sak to warm you up...
couldn't do the patch with a hayride...
our next stop was the always adorable kirkwood farmers market. i guess this isn't technically a pumpkin "patch" but it does have pumpkins and lots of fun fall activities for the kids, so i'm gonna count it. we met ellie & johnny up there last week for the evening. neither of us were too good about taking pictures...too busy chatting. but meg was able to snap this good one of all 4 kids.
our latest installment in the pumpkin patch chronicles takes us to rombach farms. i'm sure this one has to be the biggest patch in all of missouri. it is massive and we made the mistake of going on a gorgeous, weekend day. it was beyond crowded, but we just had to bring daddy along for one of our visits. so we braved the crowd and actually picked out our pumpkins this time!
lilly is into not posing for pictures lately...this was as good as i could get of the two of them. tragic. we may need a re-do.
here's a little flashback to last year when lilly was more cooperative. man, how they have grown in a year.
back to the present...
wild hair...again refused to let me put it up. and boy was it windy!
taking a break
will anyone look at me while i'm taking a picture???
the activity with the shortest line...
lil's horse had to make a little pit stop to take care of business. of course dan took a picture.
gross.
lilly wants this one
we took home 3 pumpkins this year. one for ry, lil and baby. we will be carving them tonight. more pictures to come. (and i'm sure we'll hit up another patch or two this week!)
