attention...attention

let me give you the run-down on how my little bear completely impressed me last week. i had absolutely no intention of potty training lilly before this baby arrived. i just don't have that kind of energy these days and thought to myself, when she is ready she will do it fast just like her big sis. no need to push her. well, last week she decided...totally on her own...that she was ready. last tuesday we stayed home all morning to recover from all the halloween festivities. we were putting some clothes away when lilly found a pair of ryan's minnie mouse big girl pants. for some reason that set her off. she decided to put them on and hasn't looked back. now tuesday we went through a couple pairs while we were home. i thought maybe that was just a hoax and she'd wake up and want diapers again on wed. but sure enough...she woke up and asked for them again so i decided to give it a try and send her to school. i stocked her backpack with 2 extra outfits and a diaper just incase. when i picked her up at 12:15 she came strutting out in her long sweater and no leggings...what a sight! her teacher assured me that she did great. she went early in the morning and then when they were getting ready for lunch she said she had to go but they couldn't get her to the potty in time...and she got her leggings a little wet. but that was it. since then she has been dry as can be, even wearing her big girls during naptime.

i am so proud of my little girl. it's like she knew i was going to be overwhelmed in the coming months and decided to go ahead and check something off my list. what a gal!!!

i am not being totally naive about this...i fully understand that she could regress once baby arrives and gets all the attention...but for now i really think she has it. if you ask her she will tell you that baby is going to wear the diapers and that she is a big girl. i couldn't agree more. i could cry thinking about how big she's getting. it's all going way too fast!!
