stl sports weekend

spring in st. louis usually means two things...cardinals baseball and blues playoff hockey! this weekend we had the pleasure of watching both.

friday night dan and i...along with my fil, bil and sil...cheered on the blues in game five of the first round of playoffs. they took on the blackhawks who are not only an awesome team but also our biggest rivals. to say it was an exciting game is a huge understatement. i was honestly worried about going into labor at the arena it was that nerve wrecking! the blues, unfortunately, lost in overtime but are still alive and on their way to their first cup if they can win games 6 & 7.

on saturday afternoon we headed back downtown to baseball heaven to watch the cardinals take on the pirates. my father-in-law is celebrating his 60th birthday this weekend (today, actually...happy birthday john!!) instead of a big party he decided to rent out a party suite at the game for family and his close friends. it was the perfect way to celebrate.


the girls were able to join in for this fun event and they had a blast.



this was definitely may's first game...and i think it might have been lilly's too. in my opinion it's hard to take young kids to the baseball game. their short attention spans just can't handle the slow pace of baseball.



unless of course you have a suite to yourself filled with ballpark snacks!

may loved dancing in between innings and watching fredbird...from afar. that guy was not being let into our box if he tried!









we love our city and had so much fun cheering on two of our favorite teams this weekend.
