miss maggie

a few years back, when i was pregnant with may and internally panicking about how on earth i was ever going to handle three kids, (insert smug emoticon face) i started to formulate a plan for help.
enter miss maggie
i really don't know if i can put into words how flipping lucky we are to have found miss maggie. well technically we didn't "find" her...i have known this chick since she was probably 9 years old. she grew up best friends with my sister-in-law so when i heard she was looking to make a little extra money one summer while she was home from college i didn't think twice about snatching her up.
that was three years ago.
now miss maggie is a part of this family.
for the last three years maggie has been coming to our house twice a week for about three hours/day. i cannot tell you how huge this is for me. it allows me to have a little "me" time. it allows me to run some of those pesky errands that are just not worth doing when you have 2+ kids with you. it allows for my exercise a.d.d to run wild. (i love to try new workouts whether it's running or hot yoga or spinning or this awesome shred class i'm currently addicted too...having maggie every week lets me make exercise a priority.) it allows me to be a better mom overall.
it's also such a wonderful thing for my girls. she feeds them, she changes diapers, she plays all the crazy games that ry & lil come up with...she even cleans my house for crying out loud. i swear if i asked her to do my laundry she'd probably do that too! most of all she loves my girls. that is obvious. and boy do they just looooove her right back. the are so comfortable with miss maggie...and look forward to every day they know she's coming over.
she really is like a big sister to them.
there isn't more a mom could ask for in a babysitter.
this house truly wouldn't run as smoothly as it does without miss maggie and i will forever be grateful for her.
now i just need to talk her into grad school so she doesn't graduate this spring and go off into the real world and leave us behind!
(i kid, i kid...kind of)
