irish and proud of it
7:59 PM
yes, yes, yes...i am here. i have not forgotten about my little blog. i've been busy getting our lives back on track after a wonderful week at the beach. (more on that later)
before we head south, let's discuss the irish.
ahhh, the irish. such wonderful people. if you've been reading this blog for awhile then you know that this is a big holiday for us. lots of irish roots in this family and we love to celebrate them.
first up was the annual irish night at the st. ann fish fry. this reunion of sorts all started with gma. man oh man did she love this night. she was as proud as can be to have her family with her. her children, grandchildren and great children by her side as she showed us all off to her extended family.
i love that we keep this tradition going.
i love knowing that gma's irish eyes are smiling down on us even more that night.
i love how my mom, without missing a beat, has completely taken over for gma.
such a lovely evening with family...

these two put on an impromptu irish dancing show for the crowd as their great-uncle johnny played their favorite irish tune.
the festive fun continued the next morning with the stl downtown parade. dottie and aunt mary joined us and boy did we have fun. we found a great spot at the beginning of the parade to park our stuff.

big girls and i went off to explore a little bit while we waited for the parade to start.
they watched some irish dancers, jumped in the bounce houses and were even able to hold one of the balloons!
this one.
always posing.

thoroughly enjoying her first st. pat's parade!
this is one proud irishman if i've ever seen one.

it truly was a great day for the irish!
