summer week 1

week one of summer was ~~chaotic~~ ~~frustrating~~ ~~damn near impossible~~ an adjustment. it took us all 5 days to get used to the fact that we were all going to be home together...all summer. there was whining and arguing and yelling but there was also some fun thrown in there too!

for starters we kicked off the week with a trip to theis farm for some strawberry picking! nothing says summer like eating juicy strawberries right off the vine.

annie was a huge fan

we spent some time at the park one evening while dan had a work dinner.
these four faces sure do look about as innocent as they come. don't be fooled, people.

lilly rocked swim meet nuber 2. so was so darn proud of herself for overcoming her fear of the unknown.

dancing to the dj way past bedtime was just as awesome as that ribbon up there.

dan took the big two out one evening to play a few holes one evening.

and we scratched another thing activity off of our summer bucket list. the girls had fun with this and did a lot of the work themselves. however, i now have a new found respect for lemonade stands. i vow to stop at every single one i see...just to show the mom's behind them some major support. solidarity in summer activities.

friday night could not have come soon enough for week one. the three-headed monster was together again and ready to take on the weekend! a classmate of ours hosted a "white party" to benefit our high school. it was such a fantastic evening catching up with girls from my class that i haven't seen in awhile. not to mention a much needed break from my lovely children.
