skiing sisters

7:52 PM

after a couple wonderful days on the ranch we ventured a little north to round out our long weekend with a little skiing! it's amazing how different two towns in the same state can be. we left sunny and dry mancos for sunny and snowy beaver creek. we truly lucked out all weekend with the weather. it was spring skiing at it's finest.

after a little sledding we hit up the village to sign up for lessons and get all of our gear. this was the first year may was able to give skiing a try. she was sure excited to suit up with her big sisters.

we also did a little skating before grabbing blue moose for dinner.

the next morning we left annie to hang out with grandpa and headed out.

the big girls were excited to get out there...but may was a little hesitant.

it has been a good 9 years since i have been on skies so we decided to do a little family lesson for us all to get a little refresher...well and obviously for may.

ry and lil picked it back up right away!
i was so impressed.

may learned a little...and whined a lot.

but she rode the gondola, the magic carpet and learned to pizza.
so all in all a successful morning for the bird.

dan skied to us to say hi before our lesson was over and we decided to let him take may back to the house. she had her fill of the mountain and wanted to go play with annie.
the big girls were ready to take some actual runs.

oh yes, and did i mention it was st. patty's day?!? annie was feeling her irish roots!

the next day may and annie stayed behind while dan and i took the big girls for a morning on the mountain. i can tell you this was a major highlight for dan. having his girls enjoy a sport that he loves put a huge smile on his face all day.

first lift to the top!

proud dad!

the girls killed it all the way down the mountain to enjoy some well deserved hot chocolate at the club!

that night we headed over to bachelor gulch to have a little dinner at zach's cabin. the sleigh ride up was such an adventure.

this place...so, so good!

ice cream + cookie + rice krispie treat = may's mind blown.

on the sleigh ride down the big girls and dan were able to sit in the cat with the driver!

found these sitting on my phone. no doubt this was 100% ryan's idea. you're such a good sport, lills.

we ended the weekend with a visit to our favorite park down in avon.
i took my big camera out and practiced a little more.

perfect end to an amazing week.
we loved every minute of this trip and cannot wait to go back to both the ranch and the mountains!
