halloween '17

i'm pretty sure everyone in the midwest now knows of my love for this holiday. although christmas wins every time...halloween is very, ver close second. basically the months of october, november and december are the greatest times of the year in my book. i'll take the magic of those three months over the heat of a july or august any day!
halloween this year was like halloweens of the past.
parties on top of parties on top of parties.
it always starts out with the witches party.
for years my sisters and i have been talking about doing this. hocus pocus is one of ali's favorite movies of all time and we just so happen to have the hair colors for it. so this year we finally half-assed it.
meet the sanderson sisters!
(next year it's really on)
the next event was trunk or treat at school.
of course when you're 8 and 9 one costume does not suffice. lilly and ellie always seem to come up with the grandest ideas...and somehow megan and i are crazy enough to go along with it. meet the unicorn twins.
and the minion.
(this was all their idea. a bunch of 4th graders decided to dress as minions. easiest costume to throw together)
and then there's these two who are my current favorites for sticking with one costume for most events!
it was just a tad chilly this night.
as good as my car decs get.
when you win the "best girl costume" it makes all the diy-ing we did all worth it!
no halloween season is complete with the hauck halloween party.
this year was one of my absolute favorite of our family costumes. we introduced this movie to the girls over the summer and they all fell in love with it. it was an easy sell...and dan was very thankful for this costume. no wigs, no tights...he was thrilled.
my parents really upped the anty with their costumes. i had no idea what they were coming as and they absolutely killed it!
jimmy duggan was thrown out multiple times throughout the party.
peterson fam really rought it this year.

the umpire started an intense softball game during the party.
i didn't take nearly as many pics this year as i have in the past. made at myself for that one. next year i'll be better.
once our party was over i didn't care what the girls went as for their school events or the actual holiday. i was over it. dress up bin, for the win!
our favorite new pre trick-or-treating pic. these grandparents sure are scary!
