my birthday baby
7:08 PMmy baby is becoming a big girl. i know the first birthday is a huge milestone for parents. we've survived the child's first year and we're so happy to see they are thriving. with ryan i was so excited for her to turn 1. i thought she was such a big girl. i honestly thought she was ready to run off into the world on her own. (ok, i'm exaggerating there) but i really thought she seemed more like a toddler than a baby. now, don't get me wrong, of course i am over the moon for lilly that she is turning 1! it's just very different the second time around. lilly is my baby and she's getting too big too fast! it's funny because lilly is hitting her milestones (rolling, crawling, walking, etc) on the same track, if not sooner than ryan did, but for some reason i still consider lilly a baby. i guess because for right now she is. who knows what our future holds. i hope it's in God's plan to bless us with more children, but for the moment lilly is our baby and even though with this birthday she technically turns into a toddler she will always be my little lilly bear.
now, enough of my mommy drama. today was lilly's first birthday!! i think she had a pretty great day. we must have sang happy birthday to her 25 times...and she loved it every single time! we started the day with her typical breakfast of waffles, strawberries and some yobaby yogurt.
after running a couple errands, we picked aunt nanny ali up from work and headed over to the sweeney's for a birthday lunch with our best buddies. brendy was starring in his first wedding this evening and he was so excited about his "wedding shoes" as he liked to call them. i personally think they look pretty awesome with his t-shirt, short combo!
ry thought she would help him break those suckers in with a spin around the family room!
brendy and the birthday girl
still sportin' the shoes...
and finally...it's cupcake time! happy birthday to lil...
