what a weekend!
7:10 PMa wedding shower, a birthday party, father's day...could we pack anything else into one weekend? and what a fun one it was. lots to celebrate.
we started the weekend with an impromtu trip to the kirkwood farmer's market on saturday morning. the girls and i met ne ne & dow there and then we all walked to down by the station to see if there was anything else i thought amy might not be able to live without!since lilly is such a big girl now she of course had to walk on her own...and she did a pretty good job of keeping up with her big sis. (with a little help from dow!)
once the girls were soundly napping i snuck out of the house for my first party of the day. i can't believe the wedding festivities for our little amy-lou have begun. only a few short months until her big day. this shower was a big reminder that i really need to kick my weight loss goals into high gear!
party number 2 of the day was in honor of this handsome guy!
we all gathered at aunt k & uncle tommy's house to celebrate trip. he & lilly are only two days apart...although you would never be able to tell considering lilly is a peanut and trip is one big dude! they are going to be great playmates once they notice each other!
ryan had a wonderful time being the "big girl" of the party. she loved the ryan-sized winnie so much that aunt k let her take it home. really, thanks so much aunt k...that thing gives me a heart attack everytime i walk into the room.
daddy did a great job getting these two ready for the party all by himself...didn't he?
dipping your feet in the pool helps on a 95 degree day!
buddies.
it's his party, he can cry if he wants to! my kids did not steal one of his presents...i swear!
birthday cake makes everything better...unless you didn't realize buttercream frosting would harden when chilled. poor trip couldn't even get a handful! at least it looked cute katie :)
then we finally get to the best part of the weekend...father's day! i knew there was no way i could top last years father's day, considering we brought our little lilly bear home from the hospital, but we still wanted to try and make it a special one. afterall, a daddy like dan deserves it. he said all he wanted was to spend a day with his girls and that's exactly what we did. a nice lazy sunday at home with his babies.
i really can't express in words how lucky the girls & i are to have dan. he is our rock, and the glue that holds our family together. it makes me smile to think that our girls will grow up with a daddy who will not only go above and beyond to make sure they have the most incredible lives...but will have fun with them every step of the way. seeing their faces light up as soon as he walks in the door is something i look forward to everyday. we hope you had a wonderful father's day dan. we love you more than you could imagine!
ry hopes to one day fill her daddy's shoes...
