mother's day
12:05 PMok, ok...i realize i am a week behind but i couldn't let mother's day pass and not acknowlege such a brilliant day. i have grown to love mother's day. this year the mother's of my family decided to do our own thing. don't get us wrong, we love spending time together, but none of us felt like cooking or cleaning for a party so we decided not too. fabulous idea on our part. i spent the day with my girls and dan. we decided to shake things up a bit. it was a gorgeous, warm and sunny sunday so instead of heading to our usual west county parks...we decided to spend the morning at forest park. we had no particular plan in mind...just park at the first spot we could find and wander. it was wonderful. the park was buzzing. families everywhere. most people were trying to get into the zoo...which we were not even going near...but a lot of people were just enjoying the day. walking, playing, picnicing...it was really very nice to see.
we found our way to the grand basin. the girls loved splashing around in the fountain.
my 3 loves...
lilly was a little too timid to walk in the water like her big sis. however, she thoroughly enjoyed her chocolate treat which she left mostly on her face.
this was as close as she would get...
after the park and a stop by the always delicious amighetti's for lunch we headed home for naps. i had every intention of going to get a mother's day manicure/pedicure during naptime...but once again i fell asleep with ryan. what is my deal lately?!?
anyway, i hope all of the mommies out in blog-land had a wonderful mother's day. and to all the influential mother's in my little world...i look up to you and respect you all in a way i could never express in words. i love you all.
anyone else think mother's day should be semi-annual?!?
