holiday skate
8:07 PMhow is it that the month of december flies by so fast? each year i vow to slow down, step back and soak it all in and each year i find it going faster and faster. this year was of course no exeption. i swear it went by even faster because of the little lady who came into our lives on the first of the month. thankfully i kept my camera close by throughout the entire month to capture some of my favorite moments.
last wednesday night we carried on a new tradition. one that dan & i brought to life 4 years ago and it has grown to be one of my favorite nights of the holiday season. this year the annual holiday skate proved to be our best yet. obviously our friends and family have grown to love this evening as much as dan and i. the ice was packed! nothing like watching all your favorite people enjoying a night at the rink.
for a boy who grew up on the ice...this was a very proud moment. lacing up the skates of his two big girls. i couldn't have wiped the smile off dan's face all night if i tried.
(but honestly, why would i try...that boy has one good looking smile!)

coooome on dad, let's go!
i'll be on the ice very soon, i'm sure!
another very proud daddy. i love that ellie was sporting her dad's quebec carnivale headband from 1993. for any of you who know chris & dan then i am sure you have heard the many many stories from their days in the quebec tournament.
dan had the brilliant idea of bringing a couple sleds for the kids. they were a huge hit!

my dad & my uncle johnny giving brendy a lift
lilly taking a little break for a snack then she was right back out there.
then it was back to her... meg said chris still smells of ben-gay. what a devoted dad!
what a fun night! dan already has the ice booked for next year. we hope to see you out there!!
