breakfast with santa
8:03 AMdespite all the big things going on in this house as of late...we just couldn't miss our first christmas event of the season. ursuline's breakfast with santa did not disappoint. it was my first time out of the house since we got home from the hospital. although i only went for about an hour while dan stayed home with may...man did it feel nice to actually put on some normal clothes and make up. a little dose of the world outside our house was just what i needed! the girls had a wonderful time making crafts, eating pancakes and watching santa from afar. although they talk a big game...neither one of them have mustered up the courage to actually sit on his lap just yet! we'll see if i get the beloved santa picture this year...
back to breakfast. the girls finally got to wear their new coats & the muffs that nene made for them. ryan has been itching to wear her coat since thanksgiving. we decided ryan resembles an american girl in her beret while lil is channeling natalie wood via "miracle on 34th street" with her bonnet. either way, the look cozy and festive and ready for the season! i heard they got quite a few compliments as they pranced through the doors of ua.
by the time i arrived the girls has breezed through quite a few of the activities and were settling in to eat their pancakes. i swear ryan was having a great time...despite the look on her face below.
jack may as well have been a hauck that day in this outfit!
while i was there the kids dabbled in some cake-walking...
ornament-making
cousin-chasing
and santa-gazing
brendy was the only brave one to actually approach the big man in red. the others watched from a safe distance.
very proud of himself
we also attempted a picture of all 5 kids. instead of one good one, we got many many bad ones. let's take a look, shall we....
here we have lilly strangling jack..
no one looking at me
ryan picking her nose
no one looking at anyone
and jack making a run for it
one day all 5 (6 once our little may can venture out of the house) will look at us at the same time, right? please just lie to me and give me some false hope!
oh well. after that it was time to head home. molly was rocking her new coat & muff as well!
a quick pic with the firetruck on the way to the car
as always it was a great morning. i cannot believe december is already half-over. it's my favorite month of the year and always flys by way too fast. even more festive events are on our horizon and we can't wait!
