5 months

5:47 AM

so it's may 9th...a week past the day my baby turned 5 months. better late than never, right? i am having a hard time believing that it's already may! summer is on the horizon and there are 2 girls in this house who cannot wait to hit the pool. what a months it's been for this little babe...

we don't have a well doctor visit until 6 months but i had to take ryan in last week for a lingering cold that needed some antibiotics...and when at the dr office i never miss the opportunity to throw may on the scale to see how big she's getting. at 5 months she is weighing in at 14lbs 3oz! i don't know what percentage that is...but seems pretty good to me!

you may have read my cry-baby post about nursing...we officially switched to formula in this last month. as much as it pained me to do so you are doing really well with it. you get 3-4 six ounce bottles a day. in other big news..

you are eating real food!! you started out on rice cereal about 2 weeks ago and have since had sweet potatoes and peas. mommy bought a baby bullet and i'm having way too much fun making all your food. especially since i have two little helpers who are very eager to help. we just might give you a fruit to try next since you have done so well with your veggies.

you absolutely love to be in your jumpy. you are grabbing everything within your reach so you love all that the jumpy has to offer. not to mention jumping is one of your favorite pastimes.

you also love being upright and taking in the views of your little world. you aren't quite sitting up by yourself yet but will sit supported for a few seconds before toppling over.

bath time is still your all time favorite. you just love splashing in the water. it lets you get that last bit of energy out before bedtime. And speaking of bedtime...you have gotten back on track the last few nights. for about a week or so you were waking up 2-3 times a night and i had to let you cry it out a couple times. never a fun thing for mommies to do...but you seemed to catch the hint pretty quickly and would only cry for 10-15 mins before falling back to sleep. since then you are back to waking only once, usually after at least 6-7 hours. you are still going to be around 7:30 and get up for the day around 7. i can handle this arrangement, but am looking forward to the day when you drop that one feeding and sleep all night. maybe that will be our big 6 month news!

your sisters are still love you so much. ryan always asks to hold you while she's standing up now. she is also very interested in you eating solids and wants to feed you every time. she thinks she is such a little mommy!

lilly, on the other hand is completely obsessed with you. she gets this look in her eye when she's sees you that screams "bring that baby to me right now!" she always seems to hear you wake up before anyone else and i often find her like the picture above...in your bed with you. i swear if i let you sleep with her she would use you as a lovey. most of the time you will find her sucking her thumb while rubbing your hand. obsessed.

you are changing so much everyday. as always i can't wait to see what this month brings. what a month for a gal named may!
