mah...5 months
7:58 PM
another month has come and gone in a blink.
i'm sure you are all expecting me to say things like, i can't believe how fast it's gone and times needs to slow down and blah blah blah, but this month i am really excited because...
a. it's fall
b. cooler temps are here and i am loving it
c. it's only the beginning to the absolute greatest time of the year
i am so very excited for you to get to experience all that october, november and december have to offer. ok, ok i know you are a baby and you will have no idea, nor will you care, about what these months have to offer. just trust me on this one...it's awesome.
it will be especially awesome for me this year. i will have so much fun dressing you up for pumpkin patch pictures and halloween and don't even get me started on all the christmas outfits i have planned for you. you are the perfect age to dress up and parade around town in all of your holiday cuteness!
your sisters are already having fun dressing you up...
let's see, what's been going on this month...
we don't got to the doctor for a well visit until 6 months. however...we did pay dr sara a visit this week because you have been fighting a nasty cold that has basically left you with no voice. it's pitiful but thankfully your lungs sound great and your ears look perfect so it just needs to run it's course. this won't be your last cold with your sisters bringing home all sorts of germs...and smothering you with them.
fourth child problems.
at our visit i did learn that you are 14lbs 6oz. i have no idea where this lands on the scale but it sounds pretty good to me. i looked back at may's 5 month post and you are 3 whole ounces bigger than she was. typical hauck girl. you are all built the same!
you checked off a lot of firsts this past month...
first apple picking trip
first time in a swing.
may ditched you after about 2 minutes but you loved it so much i let you try on your own.

you also had your first taste of real food a couple weeks ago! i usually dislike the baby food stage...but it is kind of fun in the beginning. you are only have it once a day, usually in the evening, so i can handle that. i am not making your food like i did with may (insert nervous emoji face) between school and soccer and gymnastics i just haven't had the time to steam and puree some sweet potatoes. i know, i know...weak excuse. i'm sure you will be on table foods in a month or two so i'm not all that worried about it. bring on the pre-packaged purees.
so far you have had sweet potatoes (loved), squash (ehhh) and carrots (liked). i'm going to venture into the fruits this week and i'm sure you'll be all over those!
in the sleeping department you are doing ok. you are not consistently sleeping through the night. most nights you wake up once around 2, eat a little, and go right back to sleep until i have to wake you up at 7:00. i can handle this. there were a few consecutive nights of 7p-6a but then this cold hit and messed with that.
as for naps you are a great day-time sleeper. you love to catnap in the ergo while i run errands
fall asleep almost every time we're in the car...which is a lot
and take nice long afternoon naps in your bed. i am not all that worried about you not sleeping all night. i know you'll get it eventually!
you are quite the mover these days. rolling all over the place and trying so hard to crawl. you will get up on your knees and try to scoot your body forward. once you get that strength in your upper body you will be off. you are also so very close to sitting up by yourself. sometimes you can stay up for a couple minutes before toppling over...some days it's just a few seconds. i am so excited for the sit-up-and-play stage...but you can pump the brakes on the crawling. no need to rush these things.
overall you are just a happy little baby. always ready to greet anyone who looks your way with a big smile...
even your own reflection in the mirror
no one can resist your chubby cheeks and those baby blues.
it's so hard to believe that the next monthly post i make will be 6 months. you are growing and changing so much...i'm trying to soak it all in as best i can.
love you little annie girl.
