sweet & sassy seven

7:41 PM

how do i even begin to describe the events that took place last sunday?

first of all...this girl turned 7.

seven.

this has to be a mistake. there is no way i can have a 7 year old! more on that in another sap-filled post. right now we need to discuss more important things.

like her birthday party...

the day started like it always does when it comes to birthdays around here. a visit from sara the elf and our traditional birthday pancakes.

i told ryan we weren't going to do a big party this year. it just gets too hard now that she's in school. i can't host a party for all 25 girls in her grade every year plus her cousins plus her outside of school friends...so i told her this year would have to be small.

then she somehow talked dottie and pa into this...

yes, that is a hot pink limo in my driveway.

 smart, smart seven year old.
she knows to go straight to her grandparents to get exactly what she wants.

everywhere is a stage for ryan. she was singing her heart out!

this one was thrilled to be included with the big girls!

the limo brought the girls to sweet & sassy in west county mall. for those unfamiliar, this is a full service salon/spa especially made for little girls. hair, nails, make up, dress ups...it's basically little girl heaven.

the girls were able to pick a dress, get their hair, nails and make up done

all in preparation for their sweet & sassy fashion show! this was an absolute riot. they called out each girl and said a little blurb about them.

"next we have our birthday girl, ryan! ryan is 7 years old, her favorite color is not pink (ummm ok?), and she loves going to birthday parties!"

you'll notice lilly is missing from this photo. the fashion show proved to be a little too intimidating for my shy little tiger. amazing how different sisters can be. ryan and may eat up every ounce of spotlight they can get...while lilly doesn't like it, not even a little bit.

after the fashion show there was a lot of singing and dancing

followed by cupcakes

and even more dancing

lilly got a second chance at that little runway. i love it when she pulls herself together and gives it a try. she had the best time singing, dancing and striking a pose.

i think may might have had the best time of all. she kept right up with the big girls and her dance moves were off the charts! if you've attended a wedding with her father, than you aren't really surprised by this.

we rounded out the afternoon with a limo ride back to our house.

ryan said this was her best birthday ever...no doubt one she will remember forever!
