january happenings

9:55 AM

well...we've made it. we have survived another bleak and boring january.

hooray for us!

ryan reminded dan and i yesterday that we have now officially entered her birthday month. i'm pretty sure she expects a daily celebration from now until the 15th. this girl looooves a good birthday celebration.

since i don't have any big events to blog about i thought i'd just share what we've been doing to get over the january hump.

we were lucky enough to have a week with temps above freezing. to be honest this winter has been pretty mild for the most part...quite refreshing compared to last year, but i wouldn't mind a decent snowfall and one snow day before we bid winter adieu.

anyway, back when it was warm, eh, er. we spent as much time as we could outside.

we hit up our beloved drace with for a little cousin fun on mlk jr day. look at that...now we take up the entire swing set with all our children.

despite colleen's side eye, these two looooved swinging.
(maybe she was just mad because her mom took away the juice box she was trying to drink after squeezing it all over herself? or that fact that she's pant less? or that she refused to nap that morning and was becoming slightly delerious?)

at least these two were all smiles

when she's not at school may and i have been spending a lot of mornings chillin' at home while annie naps.  she's currently obsessed with abcmouse.com and watching surprise egg videos on youtube. personally i think those videos are beyond bizarre but apparently may isn't the only kid who finds them fascinating.

we had our first sleepover! the girls spend on friday evening up in ali's room getting mani/pedi's, then came down here for a little coloring and my little pony before bedtime.

they were obviously pretty excited. all 4 of them slept in one room. (may isn't pictured because she was already in her crib) overall i would say it was a success. molly and may slept great! however, ryan and lilly both came down to our bed in the middle of the night because of bad dreams. oh well, all woke up smiling and extra excited when i came home with donuts after my workout!

thanks to the generosity of miss maggie's mom we were able to see sesame street live at the peabody again this year. i love that the big girls still love going to this. it reminds me that even though they are growing up so fast...they are still little girls who love to dance and sing...even with elmo!

i don't even have words for these two...

these two have been watching a lot of indoor soccer

last week was catholic schools week...such a fun week for the kids!

on tuesday may had a play day with her pal thomas while annie and i enjoyed lunch with the big girls.

on thursday a few other moms and i took over the class, recess and lunch duty for a couple hours while the teachers enjoyed a much deserved special lunch. this was so fun! i was technically helping out in ryan's class but i was able to see both girls at recess and lunch. i love it so much that they are only a year apart in school. i have no idea how i will choose what to sign up for once may joins the mix!

like we do every year, we rounded out the month with lisa's birthday yesterday! i reaped the benefits of her birthday all weekend...we got facials on saturday then enjoyed a kid-free lunch on sunday. sign me up for next year too!

there you have it. our january in a nutshell.

we have some fun things on the horizon for february...
