day five

day five was our adventure day! this means we had to actually leave our quiet little destiny by the sea bubble, load the kids in the van rather than the golf cart, and drive somewhere....

and man was it fun! we made the trek to the gulfarium to see the dolphin show. it did not disappoint.

what also did not disappoint was the fact that it was pbs kids day. all of our favorite characters were there to take pictures with. i would have to say that of all the cartoons we watch in our house, curious george is my favorite. i could listen to william h macy (aka, the narrator) tell me what george is thinking all day long...and i often do sine we seem to have the dvds on repeat in the car.

when we got home from our adventure i put annie down for a nap and took the big three down to the beach.

may was having an exceptionally good hair day and i just had to document it. her hair is a rat's nest 97% of her life so to see those perfect little blonde curls made me so very happy.
(why can't sea air and humidity do this to my hair?!?)

we made some more castles for everyone of may's guys

and then i had a stroke of genius and made the girls sand mermaid tales. i don't think i have ever seen these three so happy or sit still for so long!

they had to make a mama-mermaid to. they worked so hard on that tail!

and then they made me do it again...

and again

and again

and from a different angle.
(i retract that stroke of genius statement up there.)

i finally got them to leave the beach by promising pizza and late night swimming.

i mentioned how much i love these ages, right. seriously....amazing. i didn't even have my suit on. simply sat on the side with my toes in the water.

this is what staying up past 9pm looks like on a 3 years old! she was out about 45 seconds after her head hit the pillow.

day six

our last beach day we woke up to rain. boo. so we took the opportunity to go see cinderella. i highly recommend. it was so cute and so girly and so very magical. i was thoroughly impressed with cousin rose from downton and of course cate blanchett killed as the wicked stepmother. go see it, if you have daughters.

the sun decided to show itself once we got back to the house, so of course we raced down to the beac to soak in as much of it as we could!

i could not resist these suits from janie and jack. that bow, that bonnet, that belly.
it's all just too much.

bear crawled her way all over the beach.

see...the curls are starting to pop up.
literally.

the beach and the pool in one afternoon was just too much for this gal.

day seven

this was a hard day to wake up for. time to leave the beach and head back to the midwest!

however, all smiles for a truly wonderful week!

i was a little nervous to fly home with all four solo, but i should not have been. my girls proved, once again, just how good of listeners they are and how big a help they can be. so very thankful for a strew-free flight.

and nothing beats coming home to this guy...

so long beach, see you in june!
