day two
day two began, once again, before the sun came up so annie and i headed out for our morning walk. this little stinker was up so early, she fell asleep on our way back to the house almost every morning. at least i was able to get a solid 3.5 miles in before the rest of the house woke up!
after breakfast at the waffle house we headed back down to the beach.
(fun fact: i had never been to a waffle house in my life. now i have been twice. the girls are obsessed...mainly because it's close enough to take the golf cart)

we built castles for may's "guys"
face-timed with dad to let him know we missed him
practiced our gymnastics in the sand

perfected our posing

and more posing
and even more posing
with a little charades on the side. i believe this is grossed out...
sad...
happy...
and super excited...
that evening we hit up the surf hut for dinner.
post-dinner selfie to remind everyone that i am, indeed, on the trip.
then back home for a little crab hunting in our jammies
day three
day three began with a little bad ass coffee.

then we mixed things up a bit by hitting the pool first. i know, we are so wild. it was a smart choice considering we had the entire thing to ourselves all morning!
that afternoon i took the two bigs down to the beach while the littles rested at the house
lil and i made a little sand village
while the bookworm finished book number 2 of the 3 she read that week.
dinner this night is brought to you by pompano joe's
as we were finishing dinner we noticed some commotion down by the water. apparently a pod of dolphins had come along and were super close to the shore. there were a bunch of kids in the water and the dolphins seemed to be playing with them. one even said it brushed against her leg it was so close! it went on for a good ten minutes or so. we ran down to get a better look but they swam away right as we made it to the water. we had a lot of dolphin sightings that week...but none that close to the shore. so cool!
another selfie...golf cart style
day four
day four brought more of the same. an early riser...a little pool action...and the afternoon at the beach with my big two.
i don't think i have ever seen the ocean so calm or so clear as it was on this afternoon. it was seriously so beautiful. you couldn't help but jump right in...despite how cold it was.

man, i am exhausted from this post.
bear with me, we still have a few more days to go....
