footloose and kid free

man was this a fun weekend.

for the first time in 12 months dan and i slipped away for a little kid-free weekend. we headed to denver for scott and mary's graduation from regis. the two graduated together which was definitely a cause for celebrations...and celebrate we did!

once we touched down in denver we headed over to meet up with the graduates for a late lunch.

we then headed over to check out scott and margaret's new urban farm. i absolutely love the two pictures below. big brother completely in awe of little brother and all he's accomplishing with this new business venture.

after a wild dinner on saturday night we woke up early and met up at a bar near mary's house to kick off graduation day with a few pre-game mimosas.

next it was graduation time!

this event was just wonderful...the fact that they were able to graduate together was just so so special. a little surreal for me as well. you see, the first time i met dan, he was home from college for scott's first communion. his first communion!! that's 2nd grade, people! that means that i have known these two for basically their entire educational careers. for starters, that makes me feel old...but more so i feel so very thankful to have had these two in my life for so long. they are such amazing people and wonderful role models to our girls.

these two were on cloud nine all weekend...partially because no more college tuition (!) but mainly because they are just so darn proud of their kids!
