mah - 12months

well well well. this little chubby-cheeked angel baby turned one.

one year.

i really cannot believe it. twelve whole months in the blink of an eye. despite the fact that our first couple together weren't the easiest of my life...the last 10 have been an absolute joy. you truly are the happiest little thing. you love everyone you encounter...and hardly ever do we see tears come out of those baby blues.

we had your 12 month well visit yesterday...as usual dr sara confirmed what we already knew. practically perfect in every way. you weighed in at 21lbs 6oz which put you in the 50th percentile. you only made it to the 20th percentile for height...which didn't surprise me. being compact is what makes that belly and those thighs so dreamy. those pounds have to go somewhere!

you really loved your birthday. i mean reeaallly loved it. the singing, the attention and of course...the cake! pancakes, cupcakes, birthday cake...you don't discriminate. you love it all!

let's see, what have you been up to the last month.

in the sleeping department...you are still kicking some snoozing butt. we are still working on transitioning to one nap. most days you will take a little 30 min or hour nap in the mornings...usually on our walk...and will do a solid 2.5 hours in the afternoon. i am so very excited for the school year to end just so i don't have to wake you up in the afternoons to get your sisters. there is nothing worse than ripping you out of your peaceful slumber.

in the formula department...you are still very much attached to your bottle. i need to start breaking that habit simply because i am over washing those darn things! we are about 50-50 when it comes to formula/milk. you don't hate whole milk, you will definitely drink it if i give it to you, but you obviously prefer formula. another habit i need to officially break. that stuff aint cheap!

in the walking department... you are getting really good. practically running! you have also, much to my dismay, discovered the stairs. oh my word...the stairs. you have mastered that little skill in the last few weeks and it's all you want to do. you climb those stairs then cry at the top until i come up and grab you to bring you back down...only for you to head right back up again. exhausting i tell ya. at least i'm getting my steps in!

in the sister department...you are still in very high demand. you are becoming so independent with your walking and the last thing you want is your sisters all over you...however, they don't care. they are more obsessed than ever. maybe it was the birthday, or maybe it's your kissable cheeks, or maybe it's because your smiley personality is coming out...whatever it is, they love you so much!

(side note, you have a new love of popsicles...goes along with the whole you love cake thing. sugar, in general, is your new best friend.)

in the cute department...you are knocking it out of the ballpark. your beautiful blue eyes and bright blonde hair (that's starting to show some curls!) are just too much for this mama to handle.
