let's continue on our little vacation journey, shall we?
day four
on wednesday we changed things up a bit. after a little ride to get coffee and bagels down the road, we headed to the pool first rather than the beach.
that afternoon lilly was the only taker for a little beach time. smart girl soaked up a nice long hour with just mom & dad.
couldn't resist snapping a pic of my hunky hubs
racing. only lilly could beat dan in a foot race on the beach. i was literally about 100 feet behind them in a matter of seconds.
that evening before heading to dinner we took some pics on the beach. you know i love a good picture sesh!
may was in her element on the beach again. wouldn't let me take a single pic of her on the sand. however, back at the house she was all smiles.
good grief, three year olds are exhausting.
day five
thursday it was back to the regular vacation schedule.
beach in the morning...
that afternoon i took the girls to see "inside out." such a cute movie!
vacation finally caught up to them on the way home from the movie. a little traffic and boom...all 3 asleep!
that evening dottie graciously offered to order pizza and stay with the girls so dan and i could have a little date night. we went to probably the nicest restaurant in destin. a little b&b at the end of scenic 98 called henderson inn. if you ever have a chance to...go! it was so cute and quaint and the food was amazing. thank you again, elaine! even though it was only an hour and a half...it was so amazing.
since the girls took a little snooze we promised them some night swimming when we got home.
day six
on friday we woke up extra excited because the rest of the gang was on their way down! we knew they wouldn't arrive until dinner time so we spent the day at the pool
and flying kites on the beach
and paddle boarding on the calmer seas
they're here!!
annie was feeling rather patriotic on the 3rd of july!
once the troops were settled and fed we headed back to the pool.
then it was back home for some books before bedtime
channeling their inner-little house on the prairie.
well, that's a wrap on week one! just wait until you see what's in store for week two. i'll give you a hint...more beach and more pool!
