daddy's back

hello everyone..yes, i am alive and well and not in the mental institute (yet...haha)! we have had quite the busy week/weekend. we are so happy to have dan (and my computer) back. this was dan's last big biz trip for awhile and thank goodness for that. he was gone all week and boy did we miss him. we kept ourselves busy all week to try not to think about the fact that we were daddy-less. on wednesday we went to the missouri botanical gardens. it is absolutely gorgeous this time of year. the girls had fun seeing all the pretty flowers and ry really enjoyed being "naked" at the fountains.

mommy did not realize the fountains would be on so we were not prepared...it's a good thing ryan can pull off the diaper look so well :)




this is actually a rare view now. miss lilly is walking all over the place. dan was amazed when he got home at how much she is walking since he left on sunday. surprisingly she is a pretty steady walker and loves to "side step" around the house!










friday night was desmet's prom. ry was so excited to go see scottie in his prom "outfit" and all the "pretty dresses". you'll notice she is sporting her very own dottie's apron..complete with her own name tag. she really thinks she owns the place now!



wedding season 2010 has officially begun. dan & i had a fabulous night out on saturday at the wedding of our good friends nathan and katie. it all started with a beautiful ceremony at st ambrose on the hill. the bride and groom had a sno cone truck waiting outside the church as a treat for all the guests. so cute! after a little get together (that apparently my husband planned) at our friends ryan & andrew's house we headed to the reception at glen echo country club. this really brought back some memories from my childhood. bossy & i spent many a summer days at that pool. i was looking all over for a plaque showing all my swim team ribbons. they must keep it in a very special place ;) the reception (especially the flowers!) was absolutely gorgeous. the music (and wine) was flowing and we danced the night away. a wonderful night for such a cute couple. we wish them nothing but happiness in their new life together!

i took a ton of pictures but left my camera in my sil's car. (yes we hired scott & mary to drive us home. safety first!) however, i stole this picture from katie's facebook page so you could all see how beautiful she looked...and how handsome nate looked too ;) congrats mr & mrs hirsch!!


we topped the weekend off with a lovely, lazy mother's day. a very big shout out to all you mom's out there. especially mine...love you mj!!! i always knew i wanted to be a mom but i never imagined just how much i would love it. i am so very blessed to have these beautiful little girls in my life and consider myself very lucky to be their mommy. my life would not be nearly as full without them...and let's face it...i never would've started this blog if i didn't have such adorable faces to take pictures of. being a mother is the most important and amazing job and i am so lucky to have such wonderful role models around me. they have taught me just how special it is to be a mom and i thank god everyday for my babies. i would like to wish a very happy mothers day to all the wonderful "mothers" in my life (mj, bossy, dottie, nana, g'ma and ya-ya) and to all my friends who are celebrating their first mother's day (meg, katie, mary) i hope it was a fabulous one! happy mother's day!!!

next up...a much anticipated girls trip to scottsdale, az for a little sun and relaxation. meg & i are heading down thursday for amy's bachelorette party and i am counting down the days. i am going to be dreaming about cocktails by the pool all week! pictures to come...
