the dreaded 30
6:55 PMit's official...my twenties have come to an end. man, what a decade. i can say that without a doubt i had some of the very best times of my life in my twenties. i met my hubby, got married, had two babies and have tons and tons of fabulous memories...too many to try and count. i loved my twenties and i will always smile thinking of all the fun times i had.
however now it's time to start a new era. 30. what a big number! i think this numbers scares a lot of people, but me, i am actually very excited about it. i can honestly say i am exactly where i wanted to be. i think 30 is going to be quite an adventure. i am extremely excited to see what unfolds in the coming years. beginning with our new house. it was my husband's dream to throw me a big surprise birthday party in our new house. he had been planning it since we broke ground. he was crushed when he realized the house would not be ready in time. (about 2 weeks until we are in!!!) instead i spent my birthday exactly how i wanted too. with my husband and girls at home.
my birthday weekend started out by taking care of dan. he had surgery on his sinuses last wednesday and i must admit i enjoyed playing nurse. it was the least i could do for all the times dan has taken care of me and all my back issues. (still pain free by the way!!) the girls absolutely loved having their daddy home all day. they were adorable little nurses!

of course i had to try on all of my birthday gifts at once...and ali just had to take my hat for a spin.
the entire brunch gang
all in all it was a wonderful low key birthday. can't wait to see what the future holds. bring it on!!!
