tiny dancer

ballet class. what i consider a right of passage for little girls. i think every little girl should have the opportunity to dress up like a ballerina and tip toe around the room. i have the fondest memories of taking ballet and tap when i was a little girl. i absolutely loved participating in recitals and wearing the fabulously glitzy costumes. i was quite the performer in my hay day if i do say so myself. of course when i found out our first baby was going to be a girl the thought of black leotards and pink tights danced into my head. yesterday that little baby had her first ballet class. (with the ballet teacher who taught my sisters and i) ryan has been looking forward to this class all week. i, personally couldn't wait to see how cute she looks in her little ballerina outfit. she didn't disappoint!

i told nina and tori (who also used to take ballet with ms teresa!) about the class so they signed sofia and londyn up as well. it was so fun to already have friends in class!

sof was taking it all in and not quite as eager to jomp in as our little beaver. we couldn't help but laugh because this is exactly how her aunt crick was. crick and i took ballet together and at the recitals i would be going above and beyond the routine while crick would stand there waving to everyone in the audience! i need to get those old videos out...

miss ryan, miss londyn and miss sofia (as they will be known as in dance class)getting to know all the other little missies

ready to start-a-tappin'

so utterly proud of herself

learing how to "shirley temple" with miss teresa

then it was time to do a little tapping in their chairs...

and learn a little ettiquette too. nice posture ry...we need to work on that

then it was on to the ballet shoes. ryan says these are her favorite.

there's our eager beaver again...very first one on the ballet bar. they learned first position, how to plie in first position and a few other fancy french ballet terms. it was beyond adorable listening to them try to repeat the french terms. it think our fancy nancy books helped ;)

then it was time for their final bow. once again, front & center.

it's safe to say she loved it. i am shocked she changed out of her ensemble for bed.

a little plie practice on our way up to bed. we are already looking forward to next thursday.
