maybe next week?

5:01 AM

so much for this week. here i sit at 6:25am, at the surgery center...yet again...waiting for my husband to get out of surgery. is this a joke? am i in a remake of the movie groundhog's day? it sure feels like it.

after a positive dr appointment on monday morning we thought we were still on the right track. that the antibiotics were kicking butt and dan was going to be back to normal in no time. wishful thinking. by monday afternoon dan's incision started oozing again. not a good sign. after going back to see the doctor on monday afternoon the doc decided yesterday he wanted to go back in and clean the site out. so here we are. they just took him back and i am sitting in this damn waiting room again, worrying.

the doctor said he wasn't sure if he was going to be taking any of the hardware out...said he wouldn't know until he got in there. if he gets in there and it looks like anything might be covered in bacteria, it's coming out. otherwise, he is just going to clean out all the gunk and wash it out with an antibiotic solution. i tell ya what, whatever he does today better do the trick. dan woke up this morning feeling confident that today is the day he is going to start getting better. i was so happy to hear this. it has been hard for him to stay positive in all this mess so to hear him say that was huge. i can only hope the doc doesn't squash his motivation.

despite all this infection business we have still have been living our life. we've been keeping the girls busy with trips to the park, aunt mary's lacrosse game and to dottie's. (we're trying to fatten up that hubby of mine)

at mary's game...miss "no nap" started to get a little cranky

we were also so very excited to help welcome this handsome little man into the world last thursday.

john patrick peterson was born thursday march 31. we are bursting with happiness for meg, chris and big sis ellie. still cannot believe he is a boy! we went to soak in all his newborn goodness on thursday and friday. ryan got to come with me (since she decided last week that naps are sooo 2010) and thought it was pretty amazing that she was able to hold baby john. this girl loves babies. does not help my baby fever at all :)

i can't wait to get my hands on that boy again. that newborn smell can make any rough day, better. congrats again guys. he is perfect and we can't wait to watch that boy blossom into the hockey star his father has been dreaming about!!
