zoo-goer
1:08 PMi apologize for my lack of posts the last week. dan told me last night that i need to post something or people are going to start thinking he's not doing well. i am happy to report that things are actually on the up and up around here. despite the fact that he still has the vacuum attached to his shoulder dan is feeling better and better everyday. the doctor wants to keep the vacuum on for at least another week to make sure we keep the area clear of infection before they stitch the incisions back up. he is still getting his antibiotics 3x a day through his pickline and is also taking an oral antibiotic..so this should do the trick. i can't imagine anything withstanding such agressive treatment.
anywho...enough about the invalid. (i kid, i kid) last friday we took full advantage of the beautiful weather...and one of ryan's recent birthday gifts...and headed to the zoo. lisa and i have been talking about joining the zoo for the past 3 years and just never did. now, thanks to g'ma & pop, we are officially zoo-goers and loving it. it's quite a different experience when you are able to park in the lot rather than walking 2 miles from your free street spot...not to mention the free train rides & carousel rides. it tell you what, it makes the zoo that much more enjoyable!
jackie boy's first trip to the zoo
taking our free spin on the carousel. lil rode the hippo, ryan rode the rabbit and in typical brendan fashion he rode the "somalia wild ass" he picks that guy every time...
a stl must...a pic with "phil, the gorilla"
the little girls weren't really feeling phil...especially after ryan wanted nothing to do with him
taking a load off on the train...
cool girls
we even took in the 3-d dora movie on our way out. i mean, why not? we got 10% off tickets afterall.
overall a very successful first zoo trip of the season. have a feeling we will be back many times this spring/summer now that we are vip zoo members.
(ok, so maybe it's just us who thinks we are very important)

I went with a zoo member and the free parking is "LIFE CHANGING". I will be jealous of all of your zoo posts, I can't wait to go back next time we are home!
