another very special birthday shout out...this time to my dad. wednesday was a big one for him. the big 6-0! don't worry dad, you don't look a day over 59. (i kid, i kid!) i know it is going to be hard to top my mom's post and after the week we've had my brain is kind of mush. but i couldn't let his birthday go by without giving him some praise!

now, since you know all there is to know about my mom...let me tell you about my dad. he is equally as fabulous as my mom (obviously, they created me for goodness sake!) so here you go...top ten things to know about my dad!

1. he is a grandfather and like my mom, not just any grandpa. he schedules his life around these kids. loves having all 5 of them around him as much as possible...no matter how chaotic that may be!

2. his loyalty to his family and friends is unsurpassed. he, like my mom has had the same core group of friends since highschool, and when they get together it's easy to see why!

3. he loves a good wedding and breaks out all his best dance moves. he has mastered the "white man's overbite" over the years :)

4. he is a lover of all things athletic and competitive. especially golf. he is a fabulous golfer and enjoys getting out on the course as much as possible...especially when my brother joins him!

5. lilly absolutely adores him. her face lights up whenever i even say his name. she loves her mommy and daddy but sometimes i think even we can't compete with her dow!

6. he is strong. so very strong. this was evident when he got up and gave a wonderful eulogy about his dear friend who the world lost way too soon.

7. he is the definition of an extrovert. a quality i wish i possessed more of. he will talk to anyone and everyone in any setting. he enjoys talking to people which is why he has become so successful in his career.

8. he is a dedicated father. he obviously loves us like any father would...but he was dedicated to watching us grow and prosper. he never missed a recital, soccer, volleyball or basketball game of mine. i know he will be the same way for his grandkids.
