as much as i cannot believe this...you, my little bird, turned 2 yesterday.

two!!!

how on earth could two years fly by so quickly? it's just not fair how fast time flies when your kids are little.

of course your birthday has taken me down memory lane. i found myself looking through your newborn pictures yesterday. man alive were you a beautiful newborn...i know i am biased...but all that silvery blonde hair, tiny nose and kissable little lips.

if i close my eyes i am right back in that hospital bed soaking up all your newborn goodness.

amazing how quickly you can go from that, to this in the blink of an eye.

our 2 year old birdie. you are beyond amazing.

may, at 2 you are quite the character. your personality is coming out more and more every single day...and my goodness are you a goofball! daddy and i laugh that you truly are your own person.

we go to the doctor for your 2 year well visit on thursday so i don't have any stats for you...but i'm guessing you are around 23 lbs. if you are over 50th percentile i will fall over. you still fit into some 12 month outfits so there's no doubt you're another hauck peanut. although you do still sport quite the buddha belly which i love.

now don't let that photo above fool you...we are no where near potty training. you just like to wear lilly's around the house. that is until you come running to find me saying "uh-oh mommy!" i am not anticipating you following in lilly's footsteps and basically potty training yourself in a few weeks...but by the time the new baby arrives would be nice. hint, hint bird.

your sisters are still totally and completely obsessed with you...however now you are returning the obsession. you love being around your sisters. you love to play whatever they are playing even if you have no clue what it is they are doing. as long as you are in the mix you are happy.

we don't see many tantrums out of you which i appreciate. i think it's because you are talking and communicating so well. you really have a lot to say and don't hold your tongue on anything. you are even starting to put 4 and 5 word sentences together. for example...the other day i was talking with your dad about how i was going to take the big girls to run an errand while you stayed home to nap. out of nowhere you shout from the other room "no, i come with you mommy!"

when it comes to the sleep department you continue to kick butt. we even switched rooms...you now live with lilly...and you weren't phased one bit. you are still taking your afternoon nap and i would say about 9 times out of 10 when i ask "may are you ready for your nap?" you say "sure, mommy" and upstairs we go. as long as you have your beloved binkies you are good to go. oh the binkies...you are becoming even more obsessed with them which is not a good thing. we need to get away from them...but when you ask me "binky please mama" in that sweet, sweet voice i just can't help but give it you. maybe that will be another goal to acheive by baby-time.

(lord knows how i will ever get lilly to give that thumb up...if she's anything like her mother we have years before we get there)

anytime we go anywhere i am constantly stopped by strangers telling me how cute you are. it amazes me...but doesn't surprise me at the same time. i know you are adorable and i never get tired of hearing it. i had someone tell me the other day that you didn't look real...that you had to be a baby doll. it must have been one of the rare moments your hair was cooperating and you didn't have food all over your face!

speaking of your hair...it's out of control. it's growing like a weed lately. i am not quite sure i'm ready to trim it just yet so we just try to pull it out of your face and call it a day.
