may's is 3

last week...this little birdie turned 3!
this is so very hard for me to believe because it honestly feels like we just brought her and her silver newborn hair home. they say time flies when you're having fun...that explains it then, because we have had way too much fun with may these last three years!
on her actual birthday (december 1) she woke up to balloons, pancakes and sarah the elf making her triumphant return.

my mom had a random snow/ice day (thanks gma) on the 1st so she came over for a little impromptu birthday lunch.
the day ended with dinner at the corner pub with dottie. such a lucky little lady.
on wednesday i hosted a little birthday luncheon for may and all of her friends.
all 6 of them.
what can i say about our little may?
she is incredibly sweet
she is incredibly sweet
and incredibly funny.
and as of two weeks ago, incredibly stubborn, incredibly moody and incredibly, well, 3 years old.

i am not sure why people go on and on about the terrible two's. two was a flipping' dream compared to three. i don't know what it is about turning three years old...but something goes off in their little heads and they realize that life as they know it is just unfair.
it seems like overnight my sweet, laid back little angel turned into a crazy little bipolar monster.
one minute she's on the floor crying because i gave her exactly what she asked to have for lunch. (i should have know when she said a pb&j she actually meant chicken nuggets) then 5 minutes later she will be on my lap telling me how much she loves me.
hot and cold, those 3 year olds.
even with all her recent moodiness we still couldn't imagine life without our little bird.
may is the comedian of the family...hands down.
(or up)
she loves to make people laugh and is pretty darn good at it. it's not easy keeping a straight face when this little chick starts singing or dancing...and the more you laugh the goofier she gets.

she loves her sisters...
and her dad
and her "guys"
she has some pretty impressive hair for a 3 year old and recently loves to wear it in pig tails or braids like lilly
she loves her friends and talks about them constantly.
all 3 of them.
she is a rock star sleeper. i'm talking rock. star. this girls loooves to sleep. i have offered the big girl bed many times but she always goes back to her crib. she loves it...especially when i change her pillow case and make it "sooo comfy" for her. she doesn't need anything (except her darn binky) to fall asleep. no books, no singing, nothing, just put her in her bed with her doggie blanket and she's good to go. sleeps at least 11-12 hours at night and a solid 3 hour naps 3-4 days a week.
i don't know what she weighs (we go next week) or where she falls on the scale but in my mind she is absolutely perfect.
may, we love you more than i could ever express on this blog!
cheers to 3!
(now cool it on the tantrums!)
