annie warbucks

ryan has officially broken into the theatre world!
a few weeks ago she starred in her very first stage production. she played an orphan in the show annie warbucks. (the story is basically what happens after the original annie.)
i really had no idea what to expect with this production. i hoped it would be a full stage production considering she had been rehearsing for it 3 days/week for 3 months...but i really had no idea.
well, let me tell you what...my mind was blown!
the kids, the set, the music...every single aspect of this play was incredible. you can tell these kids worked their butts off rehearsing for this show and it paid off! they were all fantastic.
of course, there was one orphan in particular that shined a little brighter than the rest in our eyes!
over the weekend she was in four shows. my mom and i, of course, went to all four! #stagemomalert
opening night was friday evening and ryan's fan club was ready!
easily one the best date nights we've ever had!
we were asked not to take pictures or videos...which was totally fine. for the first show i just wanted to watch, phone-free, and take it all in! i honestly could not believe how amazing she was. she knew every step and every word to every song. she sang and danced her little heart out!
i held it together until the moment i saw her come out of the green room after the show and run into my arms. all the feels came pouring out at that very moment and there was no containing them. luckily she was so busy greeting her fans she didn't notice her embarrassingly emotional mother.
my little superstar.
two shows on saturday had our girl down at the theatre from 1pm-10pm! i was tired just thinking about it...but not her. she couldn't wait to get back down there and get into costume. having to wear make up was just really sweet icing on the cake!

she had so many friends come support her over the weekend. i was overwhelmed with gratitude! thank you all again, for taking time out of your weekend to come see the show.
sgm in the house for the matinee!
the evening performance brought out even more friends!!
and more autographs.
by the third show we were sneaking a few pictures. we just couldn't help ourselves. in this scene the orphans were watching fireworks. the dramatics on her face in this scene were on point!
sunday matinee
lills and her straight hair. (major side eye...i just love her curls)
the entire cast at the curtain call.
i snuck a little video for your viewing pleasure. (shhhhhhh)
i honestly cannot thank gateway center for the performing arts (gcpa) enough for putting on such a spectacular show.
when i signed her up for the mini musical classes last winter, i had no idea it would lead to this. everyone involved in this company is so wonderful and i cannot thank them enough for making ryan's stage debut such a memorable one.
ryan loved every minute of every rehearsal and every performance. she has the itch and i think it's safe to say this was only the first of many. she is already talking about their summer show and auditioning for white christmas in the fall.
i need to start working on a carpool!
