fishing adventure

9:37 AM

soooo, my father-in-law has a boat.

a really really nice boat.

ladies and gentlemen, this is the fever.

a few weeks ago we loaded up and headed down to miami to spend a long weekend on the fever. talk about a true adventure. 4 young kids sleeping on a boat for 4 days! we have been talking about getting the girls down there for a long time...we finally decided this summer to go for it.

these four got a little surprise when they loaded to plane. their pa dropped a little hint that his granddaughters were tagging along on this business trip and the net jets folks hooked them up! such lucky little ladies.

once we touched down in miami we dropped pa off at the office and grabbed a quick lunch before heading to our home for the weekend.

we settled right in at the coral reef yacht club.

of course we couldn't do a fishing trip without the proper attire!
fever shirts all around for dinner up at the club.

 grandpa and his gals

the next morning we set out on our first fishing excursion. usually my father-in-law takes the fever to the bahamas, however since this was the girls first trip we decided to stay docked in miami and just take the boat out around there.

the girls loved going out into the "deep blue" part of the ocean.

our first stop was to fish for bait fish...we hit a good spot and caught about a dozen real quick.

then we trolled....and trolled...and trolled some more for the bigger fish. unfortunately nothing was biting for us...but the few hours we were out there took care of nap time!

the following day we set out again. this time we took a different route to check out the miami beach scenery before heading out to look for more big fish.

more trolling with no bites. i found it very relaxing but the girls got a little antsy.

annie and the waves didn't quite get along as well as the rest of us. she slept a lot on the boat...and got sick both days. however, once she did get sick she was like a new person!

that night we decided to check out another yacht club in the area for dinner. the view was pretty amazing.

sunday morning rolled around and it was time to say goodbye to the fever...

until next summer!
