hauck summer - june edition

our summer is off to a roaring start. i mean, it's already july for goodness sake!! it's flying by at an uncontrollable speed so i need to document before it's out of my memory.

june was such a fabulous month. it kicked off with the start of swim team. this is the girls second year on the team. lilly had a little bit of a slow start...her nerves got the better of her the first meet and she didn't compete. this is very typical lil. she has to kind of get the lay of the land before she dives into anything. so, by the 2nd meet she was all in! ryan, on the other hand dives right in and gives 110% in every race!

the "unofficial" start of summer is always children's hospital night at six flags! as always, rain was involved...but thankfully it cleared up but the time we had dinner and got to the rides.

these four are getting so brave. tackling all the real roller coasters they are tall enough for!

lilly is giving hockey another try. again, typical lil wanted so bad to try again but was so nervous. once she heard that her dad could help coach, she was all in! i have to say...dan might love this even more than lil. he is really in his element out on the ice with all the kids.

one week after school let out...these chicks were on the road. ten glorious day in florida with dottie. i know i've said it before...and i'll say it again, when it comes to mother-in-law's, i hit the jack pot!!

back home it was pure heaven with one child all week. we did yard work, sat down for meals and actually had conversations. we missed our big girls, but man did that 10 days do wonders for our marriage!

i think annie quite enjoyed having all our attention as well.

we snuck away one sunday to celebrate this lady.

my mother is retired!!! she has been talking about this for years and years but finally it is official! of course at the moment it just feels like summer for her...but come august when all the other teachers are setting up their room, she will be hanging by the pool with us!

for the longest time i have been wanting to take my mom to fast eddie's bon air. this seemed like the perfect excuse to go. i booked a party bus and off we went!
