family fun weekend
6:07 PMa cool front moved through town on friday...so we had to take advantage of the chilly 85 degree temps and get outside. we decided to have a pizza party with the boyle's at our favorite nearby park. per usual, we had the park pretty much to ourselves, besides one other family. you really can't beat that drace park! we always love visiting with our boyfriend charlie boyle. he is 8 months old now and getting so big! i think he thoroughly enjoyed watching those crazy hauck girls tear up the playground!

dan and chris enjoying the "cool" evening
charlie really wanted to get in on that swinging action. his daddy took him for his first ride. hold on tight charlie!
then he got to go "all by himself, like big boy" as ryan says. i think it safe to say this boy loves to swing!
lil had to join in on the fun...
ry, being the biggest girl at the party, decided to give the big girl swing a try. this was her first attempt and she did great! she usually plays it safe with the baby swing. i think she was showing off a little for charlie ;)
then of course we had to take hanley for a walk around the playground.
our little dare devil is at it again. as i was chatting with mary under the pavilion, i look over to see lil climbing up to the big twisty slide. i figure she will panic once she gets to the top so i head over to get her down. only by the time i get to the slide she is already at the top. she proceeds to sit down, turn around and go down the slide feet first on her belly. i mean honestly! it took ryan 2 years to get the courage to get up to the top of that slide and i would still have to ride it down with her. our little scout has no fear. we are in big trouble.

we capped off the night with a trip to dottie's. everyone in des peres must have had the same idea...it was packed! love to see that :)
on saturday morning dan headed out early to hit the links for the 3rd (or maybe it's the 4th?) annual chubbs peterson golf tournament. the girls & i headed to the pool. we met our best bud ellie at the lodge and had a fabulous morning. it was a great day for the pool...hot, sunny but not too crowded! megan snagged a great spot for us right by the slide. i was able to sit back and watch ry go down over and over again!
cool girl kept her sunglasses on the entire time.
hi ellie bee!

big shot loved the water slide. and went down it all by herself.
i think we'll be hitting up the lodge every sat for the remainder of the summer...which is really only a few more weeks. can someone please tell me why the summer months have to fly by so fast? it really isn't fair. although i am beyond ready for cooler weather and fall clothes, i am no where near ready for ne ne to go back to school. i feel like we were just counting down the days until she was on summer break and now it's almost over. her meetings start on thursday so we are cramming in every second with her. just a few more years to get through and then we get her all to ourselves!
