birthday fun

what a great weekend of birthday celebrations. it all started on friday with a trip to grant's farm to help ellie celebrate her 1st birthday. she is now officially a "toddler" (at least according to babycenter.com) we were so excited to be able to spend her first birthday with her & her mommy. happy birthday ellie petes!!!!

it's not a grant's farm outing until you feed the crazy goats. so of course it was our first stop.




birthday girl decided to take in all the action from the comforts of her stroller. she is one smart cookie.


a little flashback to summer '09. why do i feel the need to dress my children in overalls every time we go to grant's farm? gotta love the hand-me-downs! (and ps...these two are almost exactly the same age in these pics. ry at 15 months, lil at 14 months!)






ry & brendy were dying to go in the goat pen...i pulled the short straw and had to take them in. honestly the goats aren't all that crazy when you don't bring one of those bottles in with you.




after the goats we took a spin on the carousel. another grant's farm must!






time for a little snack break...and for us mom's to chat a little. (when i say that i mean megan & lisa chat while i chase the kids. cannot wait until january when lisa can't pull the pregnancy card anymore!)

we finally made it to the beer garden for a little lunch. please notice that my little scout kept her bow in all day! way to go lil :)

the celebrations continued through the weekend. on saturday night ya-ya came over to spend the evening with the girls while dan & i hit the town. we met up with anna & dave to celebrate anna's 30th...it had been way, way, way too long since we'd had a night out with these guys. one of our favorite bands was playing a charity concert at the pageant so it was the perfect opportunity to get together and re-live all the hilarious (pre-babies) nights of our 20s!


honestly, it was just like we were 22 again...without a care in the world. i was cursing those shots at 7am this morning!

it's never a dull night when the 4 of us are together!
