change of plans
8:56 PMlife is funny. always throwing you little curveballs to keep you on your toes. for example...we had big, big plans for this weekend. train tickets were bought, hotel room booked, tea party at american girl reserved...the scene was set for ryan's fabulous 3rd birthday trip. cue thursday afternoon, ryan dressed and ready to head out the door to ballet class when instead she projectile vomits all over the floor. (sorry so graphic)

change scene to 2 hours later. ryan and i both in bed unable to keep anything down. needless to say the train tickets, hotel room and american girl tea party were canceled. postponed until a later date. for once i am happy her little 3 year old mind didn't quite comprehend the fabulosity of the weekend. when i asked her friday morning if she was sad about not going to chicago she said "no, mommy i'm sick. i'll go when i'm better" once again that girl ceases to amaze me.
i, on the other hand, was devastated. i had been looking forward to this weekend since dan & i decided to hold off on getting her that special doll for christmas and let her pick it out for herself. i had high hopes of making unforgettable memories for both girls and capturing every second on camera...because let's face it...we all know they probably wouldn't have remembered any of it! anyway i know everything happens for a reason and it was for the best we didn't go this weekend. (especially since i am sitting here blogging on a saturday night as my poor husband sleeps in bed after catching our awful bug this afternoon!) we are already looking at dates in the coming months to re-create ry's birthday trip. however, i think we'll wait for the windy city to warm up a little :)
no one can feel too bad when you have this funny little girl to keep you
entertained. lilly is talking up a storm these days. she adds new real words everyday but still loves to speak "lilly" which none of us can understand. but that doesn't stop her from having a full conversation...
