one year later

what a difference a year makes. it's hard to believe this time last year i was just home from the hospital and taking my first steps on that road to recovery. it's amazing how different life is now. how improved our living situation is, how much our girls have grown and how wonderful my back has felt since that day. i can honestly say i don't have any pain and for that i am forever grateful. i went to see that fabulous doctor of mine in december for one last x-ray. he was happy to report that my vertebrae are completely fused and i am healed! 

it has also been one year since i started this blog. i am still surprised at just how much i love it. i went from a person who never read a blog to a person who updates her own at least twice a week. it all started with a nudge from my pal (and fellow blogger for pete's sake) and i am so happy she made me take the plunge. i love that i now bring my camera with me everywhere. i love how i look forward to putting the little snipets of our life into words in a blog post. i love that my grandparents are avid followers and are able to keep up on the girls day to day lives. but most of all i love that my girls will be able to look back at this blog and see how much fun their dad and i had with them as they were growing up and just how much they have enhanced our lives.

dan took the girls to a desmet hockey game last week. they loved the pretzals, popcorn and candy they suckered their daddy into buying them. i'm not sure any game watching went on.

and finally...something that hasn't happened since she was an infant. lil takes a little mid morning snooze on daddy
