mah...3months

2:00 PM

could it be possible that 3 months have already passed since we first laid our eyes on your sweet face? i know i've said it before and i will say it again...it's not fair how quickly the time if flying.

now...i cannot lie and say that i didn't secretly wish to get to this point quickly back when i was dealing with your sweet little colic-ey self. i knew if we could just get to 3 months things would start to get better, and boy was i right! you are an absolute delight to be around now.

let's go back and see what you've been up too the last 6 weeks, shall we?

first things first, you took your first trip down to dottie's house. this included your very first flight...which you were an absolute dream on. you ate and fell fast asleep as soon as we took off. gotta love the white noise of an airplane.

it was great to have you at the beach...but my goodness it was also pretty hard. for the most part you were pretty good. you definitely had your fussy moments but we survived. you slept your way through a big chunk of the vacation (except at night some nights...thanks for that little miss)

we went in for your 10 week check up the week after we got back...and this was a game-changer for us. i explained to the doctor how you were pretty fussy. how i had given up breastfeeding (sigh) the week before and that i thought maybe you were struggling with a little reflux. she suggested mixing a little rice cereal into your bottles.

holy game-changer!

the rice helps to keep your milk down in your tummy rather than up in your throat where it hurts you. i tell you what, we went to the doctor on a monday and by wednesday i already noticed a huge difference.

you are more smiley, more chill and most importantly not crying!!

hallelujah.

at your 10week we learned that you were 10lbs 13 ounces...or as we like to say...finally up to your cousin colleen's birth weight. you are falling right around the 25th percentile. that seems to be the magic number in our house. no one really ever gets over that percentile around here.

it's all good though...just look at those little baby thighs. they are chunking up nicely.

you have been loving tummy time lately. you are working so hard to get that head up. you also rolled from your tummy to your back last week...and you are trying soooo hard to get from your back to your tummy. once you figure out how to get over that pesky left arm you'll be rolling like crazy.
(i'm not quite ready for that just yet)

you are doing much better in the sleeping department. not quite sleeping through the night yet...but you only wake up once. usually around 3:00. you eat a little bit then go right back to sleep. sometimes i put you back in your bed...but a lot of times we both fall back asleep with you tucked nicely into the crook of my arm. i know, i know...but hey, i did the same thing with may and she is easily our best sleeper. (hello, 3 hour naps every single day!) so i'm hoping to replicate that love for sleeping.

you have been napping in your bed most days but i do still steal the occasional little nap in my arms when i can. how could i put that sweet face down. your sisters must have either not been home or totally preoccupied because they would never let us sit like this long enough to take a picture.

speaking of your sisters. they are still obsessed.

i mean oooooob-sessed. they want to be near you every second they can. I'm not sure how they are going to survive being away at school all day. you better brace yourself for 3:30.

may, on the other hand,  is more obsessed with your stuff. why are toddlers so into baby items? i can hardly put you in this because it's may's favorite spot to watch her shows. don't get me wrong, she does love you too. she doesn't quite know her strength though. she loves to come right up to you, squeeze your cheeks and say "hiiiiii annnnnnie. you so cuuuuute!"

we are all loving the big changes in your demeanor the last few weeks. we are so happy yo have our happy little baby around all the time now. i'm sure all the fussing will be tucked into my newborn amnesia file very soon.

we love you so much little bananie.

we can't wait to see what next month brings...
