summer week 10
2:07 PM
marching down our bucket list on one of the last weeks of summer...
starting with the zoo.
the kids have been dying to see the new polar bear so we finally gave in. while some may think a zoo outing with 8 kids and 2 adults is crazy...to them i would say...you are correct! however, we do crazy things to make our kids happy.

add carousels to the list of things may is afraid of. she will only sit on the benches. i don't quite understand this, but that's may for ya!
i had a friend asking about the double bob and if she would ever need another stroller. i had to snap a pic and show her just how functional this stroller is. rolling 4 deep in the bob...now that sure was fun to push. (insert wide-eyed emoji)
no zoo day is complete without a ride on the train. this was our tipping point. we whizzed through most of the zoo pretty quickly...until we got to the train. we waited for what felt like for.ev.er. (channeling michael "squints" palledorous) the kids were melting down with every train that came into the station, let off maybe 4 people, and left the station without us on it. it was hot, we were hungry and my left arm was numb from holding a squirmy 15 month old.
finally the train arrived and all was right in the world.
the next day i completely lost my mind and took all 4 to the magic house...solo. in all honesty, it wasn't bad. at all. i gave my girls a major...i mean maaaaajor...pep talk before arriving and drilled it into their pretty little heads that they needed to stay in my sights at all times.
the listened.
we had so much fun!
they really are such good kids. it's days like this that remind me that dan & i must be doing something right!

wednesday the big girls and i snuck away for a night at the muny. we hit up this adorable pre-show party put on by the friends of wings foundation. they had games, crafts, princesses and a performance by the muny kids! the girls loved it.

not to mention a backstage tour. ryan was in heaven. still says she's going to be on that stage someday!

thank goodness we had such a fun time at the pre-show because the rain would just not quit that night.
they finally called it at 9:30...much to these guys disappointment.
luckily we were able to get rain check tickets for the following night and it was a beautiful august evening! the show was great...everyone loved it!
the rest of the week we just lounged...
built family room forts...
and took in a soccer game or two.
