mommy time
7:28 PMsince dan isn't able to drive this week because of his surgery he has been catching rides to and from work with his dad. this has worked to our advantage because he is able to go in a little later than usual and come home a little earlier in the afternoon. it's always a good day when we see dan before 6pm...even if he does still have to finish up some work at home. today ryan decided she didn't want to take her usual 3 hour nap and lilly decided to snooze the afternoon away. so when dan got home ry & i headed out to run some errands. little did i know just how fun those two hours would be. we didn't do anything in particular, ran and got more pain meds for dan, went to old navy, grabbed some dinner and came home. as we were driving home it hit me....
it was simply the fact that it was just ry and i that made it so fun. i realized that these one on one times have been few and far between lately. i was so worried when we had our second bundle of joy 16 short months after our first that lilly wouldn't get enough one on one mommy time. i have put so much effort into lilly that i seemed to forget how much ryan (and i) needed it too. now that ry is in school a couple days a week it seems harder and harder to have that one on one time so when it does happen, like today, i cherish it. it wont be long until both my girls are in school all day, every day so afternoons like today are an eye opener for me to make this happen more often for both of them. i love driving around town with both my girls in the backseat...but sometimes it is nice to give all your attention to one and you can tell how much they love it.
who wouldn't love bummin' around town with this gal?
