matt voll...married?

8:14 AM

yes, ladies and gentlemenm, it's true. our dear friend matt voll has tied the knot! for those of you who have had the pleasure of meeting that crazy friend of ours...you realize the surprising nature of this statement. only kidding voll...we all knew you'd take the plunge once you found a girl who could keep up with you. this past weekend dan & i had the pleasure of taking a road trip to chicago for the weekend to celebrate matt & jill. it had been a long time since we've made that long, boring drive...but luckily we had the boyle's with us to keep us company. we took our time, stopped multiple times, and played a round of dan's infamous road trip jeopardy. it made for a delightful drive.
the festivities kicked off on friday night with the rehearsal dinner. a lovely gathering that included many toasts to the bride & groom...

dan loves having the mic

the rehearsal dinner was held at an awesome restaurant that featured a bocce court and a bowling alley. i love it when there is an activity other than drinking....especially since i cannot.

buttford and boyle and their killer dance moves

the wedding wasn't until 6pm on saturday so we had all day to ourselves. dan & i took full advantage and drove to meet friends of ours who live about an hour from where we were staying for breakfast. it was so great to see them and finally meet their daughter. it's so hard when such good friends don't live close by.

once back at the hotel, we lounged and rested before gearing up for the big event.

the groom & his men. that's my hubby last in line...chatting with the violinist. pay attention dan!

the secret service...i mean ushers.

and then it was time to party!

first dance. it is very hard to see matt take anything seriously...

that's more like it

voll and his army buddies. for those of you who don't know voll, after finishing four years at indiana he enlisted in the army. went on to become an army ranger, serve two tours over in afghanistan, come home and enroll in med school. as you can see, when matt puts his mind to something he doesn't just do it...it does it full force! this was a very touching moment of the reception. nothing like a standing ovation for the men who fight to keep us safe to give you goose bumps!

iu hockey's finest....

and the dancing begins. boyle, stretching...doesn't want to pull a hammie

per usual, the boyle's take over the dance floor!

getting baby out on the dance floor

the groom in chaps. now, you don't see that at every wedding!

the old trusty "fish hook" i guess that move is cool again?

who gave this guy a microphone?!?

and finally a pic with voll as i was taking my tired feet home.
it was another fabulous weekend of celebrating friends!
