school days

3:04 PM

we have officially made it through our first full week of school...and the girls are loving every second of it so far. even lilly, the one who over the summer told me again and again and again how she did not want to go to school. when her first day rolled around she didn't even so much as frown. she smiled and waved goodbye as her teacher took her out of the car and walked her to her classroom. what a big girl my tiger has become!

of course ryan, on the other hand, had been counting down the days until school started up again since it let out last may. she could not wait to see her "best girls" and to make some new ones.

this year ryan is in the rainbow room at PUNS. she goes 4 days a week and was not happy when i told her she had fridays off. she just loves everything about school! (i had the option of sending her 5 days but i am being selfish this year...i want at least one morning with my oldest. come next year she will be gone every day for the rest of her school life!) her teachers this year are ms weber and ms baum. so far i have heard a lot about her friends courtney, elizabeth, lilly and rachel. on monday she informed me that she and lilly did not play on the playground...instead they "sat on a shady benched and talked." when i asked what they talked about she said "you know...barbies and princesses."

oh to be a 4 year old again!

(she also wrote her own sign this year. girlfriend is obsessed with coloring and writing letters!)

tiger lil is in the caterpillar room this year. this is legit preschool, not just moms day out like last year. she goes 3 days a week...monday, wednesday and friday mornings. her teachers are ms. ann and ms. carrie. she was thrilled at her visit day to see that her classroom has a ton of puzzles to play with. she is a puzzle fanatic! i haven't heard about too many girls in her class...she mostly only talks about the boys. not all that surprised by this. i have heard about george, quinn and patrick. she also says she loves when ms carrie pushes her on the swing.

i am so happy my girls are loving school so much. i cannot wait for their conferences in october to really hear how they are doing.

i must say may and i are really enjoying our one on one time as well...maybe a little too much. man alive is one kid a breeze!

(of course i would have kicked my own butt had i said this to myself 4.5 years ago!)
