it's cookie time...

9:00 PM

oh how i love sunday evenings. the girls are asleep, dan is watching hockey and i am tucked into bed ready to blog about our sugar-filled weekend. and what a weekend it was! party after party after party after party. that's right...4 parties in 4 days. thankfully i only hosted two...on the same day. i could fall asleep right now just thinking about it. but boy was it a blast. it all started with "big girl" ellie's annual cookie party. we were so excited to see ellie and peter's new house. we have been hearing so many good things about it and it did not disappoint. their mommy has done a wonderful job decorating their new pad. i didn't get too many pics because lilly was in cling-to-mommy mode. it's so hard to snap away with a babe on my hip. as always we had a great time...thanks again ellie and peter for inviting us!!

the sugar high continued on saturday morning at our house. for those of you who also follow for pete's sake (my best friend megan's blog) this is kind of a repeat for you. (if you don't follow her blog...then you need too! she is, afterall the one who got me hooked on all this blogging!) anyway...bossy, megan and i have been looking forward to this party since september when we bought matching outfits for the girls to wear at lisa's kelly's kids party. i could hardly stand how cute they all looked. the party was all i had hoped for. kids with chocolate faces running all around as us moms (and aunt nanny ali) baked and chatted the morning away. what could be better than that?

group shot before the flour started flying! brendy is such a trooper being the only boy. dan was tempted to scoop him up and run out the door to go do some manly things. again, fingers crossed baby sween #3 is a brother for b.p. (not that we wouldn't absolutely love another little gal!!)

and the cookie baking begins with nene's now infamous gun cookies. we have been making these cookies for as long as i can remember. it wouldn't be christmas without them!

cousins

after a massive clean-up we hosted party number 2 of the day. this was for the 3rd annual "real hauck christmas" this party started a few years back when dan decided to have an annual party with all the hauck cousins. it's turned into quite the event complete with a hilarious rendition of white elephant. the scanlon's and us switch off every year so this year was our turn. we were happy to have everyone to the new house...although at this point my voice was about 60% gone so i was not feeling all that well. i didn't snap a ton of pics but a good time was had by all. especially ryan...

concocting christine's ever dangerous "jungle juice." i am happy i wasn't feeling 100% because a glass of this and i would have been in bed by 7pm.

who couldn't use a potty putter, shake weight or weird asian rooster? excellent gifts if you ask me!

the party animal herself. she was very excited to get to stay up late (9:30) and party with the rest of us!

all in all it was a fabulous but exhausting weekend. my voice is now 90% gone so i need to get some rest. if anyone has a craving for a cookie...come on over :)
