on friday night i stayed up way past my bedtime (of 9pm) to take in the latest souled show. also known as my brother-in-law's band. now that scottie is a college boy out in colorado we don't get to see him nearly as much as we would like. he's in town this weekend and his band had a gig at a hookah bar right by our house. even though the show didn't start until 9...i just had to stay up and check it out. it's been awhile since i've been to one of scott's gigs. i can tell you they did not disappoint. i even got a shout out and scott dedicated a song to me. v.i.p baby!

as any of you readers out there who were at our wedding know, scott (then 15) blew the roof off the place when he got up on stage with the band during our reception and rocked out a few songs.

he has stuck with the guitar ever since and loves to play whenever he gets the chance...or the audience of two very impressed little girls

now...4 years (and a lot less trips to the barber) later...scott has really become a full fledged guitarist. he has improved so much since our wedding but his deep love of the blues has stayed the same. he has been in souled for a couple years now. a band made up of buddies from stl who now attend regis with scott. i know they play gigs out in denver but they also bring their show to stl whenever they are all in town together. we love those now-rare appearances!
